“An elevationist is a member of Elevationism, a modern, non-dogmatic spiritual movement that views cannabis as a sacred plant used to deepen self-discovery, spiritual growth, and personal enlightenment.
The term was popularized by the International Church of Cannabis, which opened in Denver, Colorado, in 2017.
Core Characteristics of Elevationism
- Cannabis as a Sacrament: Elevationists ritually consume cannabis (“the sacred flower”) to elevate their consciousness, break down mental barriers, and accelerate personal insights.
- No Rigid Dogma: Unlike traditional religions, Elevationism has no divine law, mandatory scripture, hierarchy, or strict doctrines. The primary principle is adhering to the Golden Rule.
- A Spiritual “Add-On”: It is designed as a supplement rather than a replacement for existing beliefs. Members can belong to any faith (Christianity, Buddhism, Judaism, Islam, agnostic, etc.) while practicing Elevationism.
- Focus on Individual Journeys: Spiritual growth is treated as a self-guided exploration rather than something dictated by a central authority.”
Got this information off Gemini. Thought I would give it a copy and paste, here. Spread awareness. I have always thought of weed as a special plant. One to help you become aware. Things about you that you uncover. Healing can be done, under the influence.
I am a strong voter on cannabis and I love the fact that cannabis is legal in my small state of Rhode Island! You can smoke anywhere you can legally smoke a cigarette. At the park? Whip out that bong and take a rip!
Who knows. I want to move to Colorado. This spiritual movement is something I can actually believe in. Cannabis is my medicine. I never have enough of it. I am blessed when my friends smoke me up! This movement started there. I might be an elevationist!
Either way, LEGALIZE WEED FEDERALLY!
STOP ARRESTING PEOPLE OVER WEED!
All love!
